I still can’t believe that it is real. That we have seen our daughter’s face. That there is a real baby girl waiting for us in Ethiopia. I stare and stare at her sweet photo many times a day. Up until our referral last week, I was a pretty good wait-er. I knew that there would be a wait. It would all end some day. I was ok with it. It was a pure miracle that we were never waiting at the number 1 spot. Our referral call was 100% surprise. But now, now that I have precious eyes that stare back at me from my computer screen, my heart is longing. Longing to hold her, to smell her, to hear her giggle. That chair in her nursery is about to catch some tears as I plead with God to open the doors for a court date SOON.
The same day that we got her referral call, we signed the paperwork to accept her referral and mailed it off. Do you think we are excited? YES!!! Here are photos of the send off :)

I am SO excited that Maya has a big brother. As we were waiting for her, I knew that she would be a girl, that a little girl was who was to join our family from Ethiopia, but I always wanted her to have a big brother. Crazy how God makes dreams come true :)

Juanita Gonzalez - Our daughter and son-in-law just came home last week from China bringing another daughter into their family. It was a long wait but so worth it. She is being loved on and cared for like she didn’t have for the first 14 months of her life. I know a little of your anticipation from a grandmother’s point of view. I’m so happy for you, your husband, and son. God bless you abundantly!!!
Courtney - Hi! My name is Courtney and I stumbled upon your blog from (story of my life). I have never commented on a blog before i like to read them and see all the cool things people are doing in other parts of the country/world but it always seemed like the cool kids lunch table and I felt like my comments would be intruding.
I have spent the last hour reading your blog and ( in a non creepy stalker way) Have fallen in love with your little family and your story.
My friend and I were just talking about going to the caribbean next summer and I instantly only want to go visit an orphanage.
You and your husband are an inspiration and though marriage is a ways away ( i’m only 23 and very single haha) I pray that the lord brings someone in my life with whom I can have a relationship that is based on our faith as yours seems to be.
Angel - I am so glad for you! As one who waited for our baby girl to come home, I know the twing of longing in your heart and will pray for you. Strange but learning all about how to do hair made the wait a little easyer for me. http://www.chocolatehairvanillacare.com is a good resorce to keep you buisy preping for baby:) Can’t wait to see her!
